10 Jun, 2025

As we all know, NEET 2025 will be conducted in the first week of May, and we have only a few months to boost our knowledge and crack the medical entrance exam. In this crucial time, we should make our preparation in a way that helps us to score maximum in the exam by constantly revising important chapters and consistently using mock tests to introspect ourselves.

In this article, we are going to know about all the important chapters in all 3 subjects, that is, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, which you should learn and revise from time to time because when we analyse previous year's question papers, so many questions are asked from these chapters.

PHYSICS

Physics is the most important and most interesting subject for NEET, but most students are afraid of physics, and this fear makes them score comparatively less in Physics. But if you want to bloom your preparation, you must understand Physics instead of cramming it. Now, we should take a glance at the marks distribution, the estimated number of questions asked from different units based on PYQs:

Unit Name

Number of questions expected

MECHANICS

14-16

OPTICS AND MODERN PHYSICS

9-11

ELECTRICITY AND MAGNETISM

12-14

PROPERTIES OF BULK MATTER AND HEAT

8-9

Now, we are going to know about crucial chapters from these units, which you should revise constantly and make a strong hold on these topics. You must practice plenty of numerical problems from these chapters:

Laws of Motion and Work, Energy and Power

These topics from the Mechanics unit are important and interlinked and are easier to score. You must practice these chapters thoroughly; vital topics from these chapters are Newton’s Law of Motion, Work-Energy Theorem and the principles of power. You must practice the problems from these chapters.

Electrostatics

Since Electricity covers a major part of Physics, students are advised to focus well on this unit. You should prepare the following topics thoroughly:

Electric charge and fields, Coulomb’s law, Electric Potential, Capacitance, Dielectrics, Direct electricity and Alternating current.

Magnetism

This unit is connected with Electrostatics, and you should practice this unit after practising problems of Electrostatics. This unit usually carries a significant weight, so you have to do this unit inclusively. The most important topics from this chapter are:

Magnetism, Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Law, Electromagnetic Induction, Electromagnetic Waves and power dissipation.

Optics and Modern Physics

The topics related to optics and modern physics are comparatively easier to score. Therefore, students are advised to study these topics thoroughly. Many questions are also asked in this section. Vital topics that you must prepare for your NEET preparation are:

Ray Optics, Reflection, Refraction, lenses, wave optics, dual nature of matter and radiation and optical instruments like microscope, telescope, etc.

Fluid Mechanics

If you refer to previous year's question papers, you will get to know 3 to 4 questions that are consistently asked in this chapter, and these are not very hard, so you must prepare some very important topics  from this chapter, which are:

Fluid Properties, buoyancy and Bernoulli’s Theorem.

Thermodynamics

It is an important topic to score better than your competitors because this unit is easier, and most students ignore this unit, but toppers don’t ignore any topic. Crucial topics from this chapter are:

Movement of heat and energy in a system, Kinetic Theory of Gases(KTG), laws of thermodynamics, entropy and Carnot engine.

CHEMISTRY

Chemistry is another subject from which there are 50 questions in the NEET exam, out of which students have to attempt 45 questions, just like physics. Now, as we all know, Chemistry is very vast, and in this crucial time, by prioritising important chapters with more weight, we can save time and effort. We are going to learn about important topics from Chemistry, which are consequently asked every year:

Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry covers a major part of the NEET Chemistry curriculum. It must be studied thoroughly and must be practised from time to time. Important topics of this unit that you must prepare inclusively are:

Physical Chemistry

In Physical Chemistry, we must prepare the following topics:

Chemical Equilibrium, Solutions, Thermodynamics, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure.

Inorganic Chemistry

Topics from Inorganic Chemistry prepare a base for many NEET questions and need to be studied thoroughly. Topics included are:

P-block compounds, the periodic tables and coordination compounds.

States of Matter

This unit is easier to understand and scores better on the NEET exam. Key concepts of this unit are:

Gases and Liquids, Boule’s law, Charles’s law and Dalton’s law of partial pressure, Ideal gas laws and Chemical Kinetics.

BIOLOGY

The most important subject for NEET, and with 50% weightage, we can say Biology is the most crucial for cracking NEET. In total, there are 100 questions in the biology section, 50 50 from Botany and Zoology, out of which you have to attempt 45 questions from each section. And Biology covers the theoretical portion, and you can score easily in this section. But you must know what you have to study in this last vital time. Now, let us tell you which chapters you will see more questions in your exam:

Ecology and Environment

This chapter can have factual and application-based problems related to the environment and cleaning methods, with human effects on the atmosphere. Important topics of this unit are:

Ecosystem, biodiversity, Microbes in Human welfare, sewage treatment and biofertilizers.

Genetics and Evolution

This unit covers a major part of the NEET exam, and students are advised to prepare this unit thoroughly with the Biology NCERT book because the biology section is mostly from the NCERT. Key concepts of this unit are:

Mendelian genetic theory, Heredity and Variation, Pleiotropy, DNA, RNA, DNA fingerprinting, Biological Evolution and genetic disorders.

Human Physiology

The human physiology chapters have a significant weightage in the NEET exam. Students must prepare these chapters thoroughly:

Excretory system, digestive system, nervous system, locomotion, circulatory system, endocrine and exocrine system, Reproduction in human beings, gametogenesis, fertilisation and reproductive health, along with contraceptive methods.

Plant Physiology

The Botany Section has plenty of questions about plant physiology, and you must prepare this unit completely. This section is not very hard and easier to score, so you must revise the following vital topics thoroughly:

Morphology and anatomy of flowers, transportation in plants, Nutrition in plants, Growth in plants, metabolism and respiration in plants and photosynthesis.

Conclusion

These are some important chapters that must be studied before appearing in NEET 2025; with hard work, consistency, and dedication, the aspirant can achieve their dream. They only need to work smartly by focusing on the main chapters.
